30th Sept 07. Ballymena Utd 0 Glentoran 4 - Gary Hamilton hat-trick (although Rory Hamill will claim he got a touch on one of them) and Michael Halliday 10 minutes from time to secure the points and take the Glens top of the League after 2.

28th Sept 07. Ballymena Utd game - Second Premier League fixture and an early trip to Ballymena-heh. Anybody who huddled with me in thon stand in early January at last seasons fixture will probably agree - we owe them one ... or more to the point - WE OWE OURSELVES ONE! We were absolute kak last time, barely went through the motions, awful. We arrived at the showgrounds in desperate need of the points back then after losing at home to Portadown, and on leaving with a 3-2 defeat our boiler then well and truly burst, as we succumbed to Dungannon, Distillery and Donegal friggin Celtic in the next 4 weeks! I would like to think we weren't going to get another one of those displays tomorrow. Strange too, coz up until last season we seemed to do pretty well at the Showgrounds, a hard enough game granted, but we hadn't conceded a goal there for over 3 years. The Sky Blues record this season reads Pld 8, Won 4, D 3, L 3 - three of those wins coming against Glenavon and Orangefield. A welcome examination for the Glens (nice to be playing someone other than Armagh or the Whites) but quite frankly nothing less than all 3 points are required if we are to make any real challenge for this years title.
Ballymac's bus leaves Wilgar Street at 1.30pm, and all visitors are once again welcome to travel. Others at the link above.

Fordyce on target for Norn Iron ... Glens midfielder Daryl Fordyce got on the scoresheet for the National U21 side last night as a 2-1 win over Luxembourg got the juniors European Championship hopes back on track. Must have been a brave bit brighter on that flight home than the one I was on, coming back from the land that time forgot ... Iceland! Ya wanna see the hack of that place, as somebody said on the way back, a cross between the moon and Mallusk! Ya wouldn't believe who I saw in a blue hat too ;-) Awe well ... anybody interested in a cheap package to Stockholm and Las Palmas? :-(

Co Antrim Shield Q'Final - Home just long enough to see the Glens take on the Whites in tonight's County Antrim Shield Quarter-Final, oh and by the way, if you ever get offered a free trip to Riga give it a friggin miss - "Stroked in Latvia" T Shirts already ordered, and don't even mention the match! Anyways, looks like we all witnessed a cracker game on Saturday, whether it be Riga or Larne, still, at least the Glens DID get that last minute winner :-( So tonight then, Quarter-Final or not I don't see a packed Oval for this one, no disrespect to Distillery, but 3 times in 3 weeks really is layin it on thick ... and we play them again in the League in 4 weeks! No doubt we'll get Larne in the semi's if we get through! Can't comment on Saturday at Inver Park of course, but by all accounts still some very indifferent stuff from the Glens, slightly concerning given the League kick-off is now less than 2 weeks away. No matter, a semi-final spot at stake tonight, and the Whites will feel they owe us one after two very unfortunate reverses against us in the last couple of weeks. Let's hope the lads this time get it right from the off - Proceedings get underway at 7.30pm.
Match Betting: Glentoran 4/9, Distillery 11/2, and a draw 11/4. All odds supplied by TOALS bookmakers
